BOOM! Studios Officially Announces
Its New Planet of the Apes Series |

As we reported back in January of this year, BOOM! Studios will publish a new Planet of the Apes comic-book line, starting next month, to be written by novelist Daryl Gregory, illustrated by Carlos Magno and edited by BOOM!'s Chip Mosher, with covers by Karl Richardson and Chad Hardin.
Since then, very little news on the subject has surfaced, leaving Planet of the Apes fans anxious to learn about the latest series following in the footsteps of previous efforts by Gold Key, Marvel, Malibu's Adventure imprint, Dark Horse and Mr. Comics.
Well, the veil of silence was lifted today, and fans are no doubt rejoicing. Mosher worte to let us know that BOOM! has posted an official press release announcing the series.
What's particularly interesting is the inclusion of a new cover image for the first issue (top left). The release also contains a second cover already leaked online (the second down), but not a third that has also been circulating (in the third spot). Clearly, BOOM! will be releasing multiple covers for its series, though it remains to be seen if the third cover will ever see publication. The covers to issue #2 appear at bottom left.
But what's it about, you ask? Tune in next month and find out, as the press release provides only tantalizing hints. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available—and watch this space for an upcoming interview with Daryl Gregory about this new series, to be posted in the coming days.
